About Ginger Treats
Hi, I am Emily and a foodie through and through. I trained at Leith’s School of Food and Wine and have been immersed in the food/events industry for my entire professional career spanning over twenty years, mainly in London before moving back to the West Country to raise my family.
The concept of Ginger Treats came about after my son was diagnosed with a dairy and soya allergy as a new born. Wanting to carry on breast feeding I decided to also go dairy and soya free too.
Like a lot of new mums going to cafes became the centre of my social life. I quickly discovered that if I wanted a cake my options were really limited. There were plenty of gluten free options, but no one offered a dairy and soya free choice, I would end up with only a black decaf coffee.
I started making my own cakes instead and taking them to cafes to eat, and so realised there was a gap in the market which I could fill.
Here at Ginger Treats we are passionate that our delicious cakes are for everyone, not just those with allergies or choose to be vegan. We are not trying to replace all dairy based cakes, but enhance the choices you offer your customers.
We use good quality ingredients to get the best flavours and have tried to include ingredients known for their high calcium content such as ground almonds or chia seeds.
Most of our cakes can be made with gluten free flour, please ask for more information and a sample.
All our cakes have been made to be freezer friendly to ensure you can give your customers the freshest tasting cakes possible and allowing you to never run low on stock.
They are delivered locally and freshly baked to you ready cut into portions so defrosting takes no time at all!
